Biggest DDoS attack to hit a Crypto Platform

Cloudflare has said that they received one of the DDoS attacks with 15.3 million requests.
DDoS Attack means “Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) Attack” and it is a cybercrime in which the attacker floods a server with internet traffic to prevent users from accessing connected online services and sites.

Key points to note.

  • The attack lasted just 15 secs
  • Even though it was short of a record, it might have been more powerful because it was delivered through HTTPS.
  • 6,000 bots, has delivered payloads as high as 10 million requests per second.
  • The attack originated from 112 countries.

We at sapna security recommend using CDN and DDoS protection service like Cloudflare. We have migrated several applications and services to use Cloudflare over the past years.

Cloudflare allows you to protect your external public facing website/application. Allowing CDN, WAF, DDoS, bot management, load balancing etc services. You can host your application on any platform you want, and one just needs to point the DNS to Cloudflare. For details on cloudflare refer to https://www.cloudflare.com/what-is-cloudflare/
